Your safety is a top priority for GrabRentals. That’s why we are running a 3-months Usage-Based Safety Programme from 5 September to 27 November 2022 where participants stand to earn up to 4,000 wheels just by driving safely!

What is the Usage-Based Safety Programme?

A safey score* is calculated weekly based on your driving behaviour

You will receive a weekly in-app notification reflecting your latest safety score

Achieve a high monthly score and you’ll be able to earn rebates!

*The safety score is calculated based on 3 types of events:

Harsh Braking – Number of hard braking counts detected
Speeding Records – Number of speeding counts detected
Harsh Acceleration – Number of harsh acceleration counts detected

Scoring events are triggered by the driver’s driving behaviour whenever the vehicle is in use, and cannot be toggled off.

GrabRentals hirer-partners who are selected to join this programme will receive an in-app message via their Grab Drivers app. Fret not if you’ve not been selected to join, as participants will be selected on a rolling basis!

Earn up to 4,000 wheels monthly!

Achieve a high safety score monthly and earn rebates* based on your category!

*Wheels will be issued in a lump sum after the trial period.

Hirer-Partners who have achieved a safety score of ≥ 86 in the current month, and thus qualify for the rewards, will no longer be eligible to participate in the following month.

Hirer-Partners who fail to achieve a safety score of ≥ 86 in the current month will not qualify for any rewards and will be required to continue participating in the following month.

How is my safety score calculated?

The safety score is calculated based on 3 types of events:

Harsh Braking – Number of hard braking counts detected
Speeding Records – Total number of days with speeding violations
Harsh Acceleration – Number of harsh acceleration counts detected

Scoring events are triggered by the driver’s driving behaviour.

How frequent will I receive updates on my safety score?

You will be updated weekly via an in-app notification in your Grab Driver App.

Where can I check my safety score?

To check your safety score, you may refer to the weekly statement via an in-app notification in your Grab Driver App.

How can I improve my safety score?

Road safety is a state of mind. Always drive with caution!

You are encouraged to:

Avoid tailgating by always keeping at least 2-seconds behind the front vehicle
Look ahead and avoid being distracted while driving
Drive within the speed limit
Release your brake pedal early

When will I receive the rebates?

You will receive a weekly report of your safety score. At the end of each month, a report will be sent to you with your final scoring, with the rebates you have earned for that month.

At the end of the 3 month period, the total rebates will be issued to you in a lump sum.

Will I still receive the rebates if I get into an accident?

No. Eligible Hirer-Partners will need to fulfill the following conditions:

Rent a car (“Eligible Vehicle”) from GrabRentals Pte Ltd (“Grab”) throughout the programme period
Remain accident-free (excludes windscreen claims) with the Eligible Vehicle throughout the programme period
Drive the same Eligible Vehicle throughout the programme period
Travel a minimum of 1,500km monthly in the Eligible Vehicle

Terms & Conditions

The GrabRentals Usage-Based Safety Programme runs from 5 Sep 2022 – 27 Nov 2022.
Eligibility:
- This programme is by invitation only. GrabRentals hirer-partners who are selected to join this programme will receive an in-app message via their Grab Drivers app.
- Eligible Hirer-Partners will need to fulfill the following conditions:
  - Rent a car (“Eligible Vehicle”) from GrabRentals Pte Ltd (“Grab”) throughout the programme period
  - Remain accident-free (excludes windscreen claims) with the Eligible Vehicle throughout the programme period
  - Drive the same Eligible Vehicle throughout the programme period
  - Travel a minimum of 1,500km monthly in the Eligible Vehicle
Programme Rewards:
- Eligible Hirer-Partners will earn rewards based on their final monthly safety score*.
  - Monthly safety score 86 and above – 4,000 GRNavigate Wheels monthly
  - Monthly safety score between 0 to 85 – No reward
- *The safety score is calculated based on 3 types of events:
  - Harsh Braking – Number of hard braking counts detected
  - Speeding Records – Number of speeding counts detected
  - Harsh Accelerations – Number of harsh acceleration counts detected
- Hirer-Partners who have achieved a safety score of ≥ 86 in the current month, and thus qualify for the rewards, will no longer be eligible to participate in the following month.
- Hirer-Partners who fail to achieve a safety score of ≥ 86 in the current month will not qualify for any rewards and will be required to continue participating in the following month.
Payout:
- The payout will be issued in a lump sum after the end of the programme period.
- Hirer-Partners must be on an existing GrabRentals rental contract at the point of payout
- Grab may, at its sole and absolute discretion, substitute the rewards for another reward of similar value.
Grab’s decisions in any matter in relation to the Usage-Based Safety Programme shall be final and conclusive. Grab shall not be liable for any claims by you or third-parties for claims or damages or losses of any nature, including but not limited to, loss of profits, expectation loss, punitive, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages or for other damages and any related claims of any nature, including direct, indirect, third-part, consequential or other damages resulting from or in connection with this Programme.
Unless otherwise provided, all rewards are non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash/credit in kind.
By participating in the GrabRentals Usage-Based Safety Programme, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and failure to comply may result in disqualification from the GrabRentals Usage-Based Safety Programme
Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to withdraw, amend and/or alter any part of these terms and conditions at any time without any prior notice to you and you agree to be bound by those changes.
