What is Emerald Circle?

Fast Track lets you skip tiers and advance directly from Emerald to Sapphire Tier to enjoy a higher level of benefits, including:

How long does the Retainer Period last for?

It depends on whether you start driving early, mid-way or late in any given quarter. Let’s say…



Scenario 1: You start driving for Grab early in Q1. After Evaluation, your Retainer Period will last until the turn of Q1 to Q2.


Scenario 2
: You start driving mid-way through Q1. Your Retainer Period will be shorter, but will also last until the turn of Q1 to Q2.


Scenario 3
: You start driving late in the quarter and your Evaluation Period overlaps Q1 & Q2. Your Retainer period will last until the turn of Q2 to Q3.


Scenario 4
: What if, your Evaluation Period ends exactly on the final week of Q1? In this case, you simply advance straight to Sapphire Tier. There is no need for a Retainer Period.

This system ensures fairness, as ALL new or reactivating driver-partners need to fulfil the same requirements for Sapphire Tier – no matter when they started driving for Grab.
It takes about 1 week for your trips to be calibrated. As long as you’ve completed the requirements, you’ll enjoy Sapphire benefits, so don’t worry!
Whichever quarter your Evaluation Period is completed, your Retainer Period will last till the start of the next quarter.
No. Fast Track is only available to newly-joined or reactivating driver-partners. This is to retain the integrity of Diamond Tier which is reserved for our most loyal driver-partners.
Yes, as long as 500 trips are completed in your first 4 weeks (Evaluation Period), you can get on Fast Track.
No. You need to fulfil BOTH Evaluation Period and Retainer Period requirements. The only exception is if your Evaluation Period ends on the final week of a quarter – in which case you don’t need a Retention Period.
No. The Fast Track programme only calculates the number of trips you complete.

All driver-partners that have been awarded Sapphire Tier during the interim period will only be eligible for Sapphire tier payouts from Grab Streak Bonus (GSB) 2.0 in the next month after the month of promotion.
For example:
Sam was awarded Sapphire tier during in the interim period in February, Sam will only be eligible for Sapphire tier payouts from GSB 2.0 in the month of March. Sam will be counted as Emerald tier for Feb’s payouts under GSB 2.0

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Emerald Circle Fast Tack (Sapphire) programme is applicable to all GrabCar and GrabTaxi Partners.
  2. Any PHV drivers who are new to GrabCar/GrabTaxi, reactivating their accounts or switching from Grab’s delivery or Hitch services will be automatically enrolled in this campaign.
  3. All transport services are eligible, except for Street Hail, GrabResponse and GrabHitch trips.
  4. Trips are based on completed bookings. Emerald Circle Tier Boosters are not applicable for this programme.
  5. Retainer Period: Monthly average trips are calculated based on (400 trips/30 days) x number of days left in the current Quarter
  6. All driver-partners have to maintain a Driver Rating of 4.7, Acceptance Rate (AR) of above 90% and a Cancellation Rate (CR) of below 10%. Failure to meet these requirements will result in ineligibility.
  7. Partners with previously terminated accounts will not be entertained.
  8. Grab reserves the right to alter or amend the programme mechanics at any point in time.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
