How is the pick-up fare calculated?
Fare = Pick-up Distance + Pick-up Duration + Trip Distance + Trip Duration + Surge Pricing + Tips + Tolls & other relevant fees.
Who pays if the pick-up distance is far away and takes longer to reach?
Grab will compensate for trips where the pick-up distance is longer to reach.
Why isn't the Grab Service Fee fixed?
The Grab service fee varies from trip to trip so that our driver-partners can be compensated fairly for the time and distance they travel to pick up a passenger.

In scenarios in which more effort is required, the service fee will be lower to take into account higher earnings; alternatively, the service fee may be higher if less effort is required.
With fairer fares for our driver-partners, passengers will also experience higher likelihood of getting their rides which in turn will drive more reliability and demand. This can lead to more earning opportunities for our partners.
Why is the Grab Service & Platform Fee high?
The higher service fee enables our driver-partners to be more fairly compensated in completing a ride with a longer pickup distance and time.
The service fee also funds our platform's operations and supports innovation that enables us to serve more riders and drivers.
What is the Grab Service & Platform Fee for?
Grab service fee is the remainder after taking away driver’s earnings and third-party fees from the passenger’s fare from the same trip. It is used to fund our platform's operations and supports innovation that enables us to provide a reliable, safe and efficient service to our users, as well as some of our welfare initiatives and benefits for driver-partners such as GrabAcademy.
Do I get to keep all my driver tips?
Yes, you get to keep 100% of your driver tips.
