We are always listening to your feedback and introducing new ways to reward and recognise our most loyal and hardworking delivery-partners. As such, we have revamped the Emerald Circle programme and this will take into effect Jan 2023. Here are the key changes: 
  1. Quarterly refresh instead of monthly

Invites will be extended to the top-performing delivery-partners (up to the top 5%). Diamond tier delivery-partners can look forward to exclusive benefits such as priority support, exclusive swags and more.

We’ve also heard your feedback on the perks you want – stay tuned for updates on enhancements to your benefits (Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond), such as My Destination, vehicle maintenance perks, and more.

Progressing the tiers

To provide more flexibility in however way you decide to earn or maintain your tiers, we will be introducing 3 changes:

  • Quarterly refresh cycle

Your tier refresh will soon be determined every 3 months (quarterly) instead of monthly. This will give you even more flexibility to plan your work schedule, take more breaks, and have more opportunities to achieve your trip targets. 

This also means that once you qualify for a tier, it will be maintained for 3 months. 

For example, a rider who completes the required trips over 1 Jan 2023 to 31 Mar 2023 will qualify for the Sapphire tier. This tier will be valid from 1 Apr 2023 to 30 Jun 2023.

Bonus Boosters recognise factors like participation in training sessions and motorcycle rentals, to give you a head start that’ll help you meet your targets more easily!

These are additional points you may earn on top of your trip count, which we will use to determine your Emerald Circle tier! From Oct 2022, every completed order on the following service types will now earn you 0.5 booster points

FAQs

Emerald Circle

Tiers will next be renewed in the first week of every calendar quarter (e.g 1 Jan 2023).
You will be accessed on your performance over a 3-month period in each calendar quarter (e.g. Tier for Q2 2023, Apr – Jun 2023, will be determined by your performance between Jan – Mar 2023)

Trip count is based on completed GrabFood, GrabExpress and GrabMart completed trips during the assessment cycle, according to the time of order completion.

Diamond tier is only open to the top 5% of Sapphire partners. Note that Diamond tier is by invitation only.

Your Emerald Circle tier will be refreshed within the first week of the new quarter. Benefits for the new tier will start the week after the new confirmed tier is completed.

The tiers refresh every quarter and you will be tiered according to your total number of completed trips. If no trips are done during that cycle, you will be automatically tiered to Emerald at the end of the assessment cycle.

Here are a few reasons this may have happened:

  • You did not complete the minimum number of trips required to maintain your tier. If you fail to hit the minimum benchmark in your current tier, you will be downgraded accordingly based on the minimum benchmark assigned for each tier based on your vehicle type.

  • You did not meet the following requirements:
    • Acceptance Rate ≥90%
    • Cancellation Rate ≤ 10%
    • Driver Rating ≥4.5
    • Completion of Grab Delivery-partners skills Training (only applicable for GrabFood delivery-partners activated after 21 June 2021)
  • You had been caught with fraudulent behaviour. Grab does not tolerate fraud, and any delivery-partner found guilty of such offences will be downgraded to Emerald immediately. No appeal will be considered.

Appealing will be allowed within the first 5 days of each quarter. Please submit an appeal via this form and provide the supporting documents (e.g. hospitalisation leave). Do note that the form will only be available the first 5 days of each quarter.

Appeals will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Grab has the final decision on the appeal result due to other factors.

Upon immediate update of vehicle type, your trip target for that cycle will be of that new vehicle type.

Example : Delivery-partner, who is currently at Ruby tier, submitted his request to change his vehicle type from Bicycle to Motorbike during the tier assessment cycle.

Upon a successful change of vehicle type, he will have to meet the targets for his new vehicle type.

All new joiners will start from Emerald tier first. They will be able to progress to higher tiers to unlock more benefits if they manage to complete the minimum trip targets for the respective tier and complete the Delivery-Partner Skills Training.

Please take note that any new account activation or changes to vehicle types for shift eligibility will take up to 7 working days to reflect.

For example: Alex, an Emerald Walker, is not eligible for any shifts. He decides to change to Cycle. He will only see the peak shifts in his booking planner 3 working days later.

Trips

Stacked orders will be counted according to the number of trips grouped together.

Example:
A stacked order of 4 will be counted as 4 trips instead of 1.

No, only completed trips will be counted towards your trip target.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
