MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 19 February 2019 –  Grab, the leading super app in Southeast Asia and the only everyday app in the Philippines serving the daily essential needs of Filipinos, announced a strategic partnership between GrabFood and McDonald’s Philippines. Through the partnership, GrabFood further strengthens McDonald’s delivery service with additional online storefronts, access to millions of Grab users, and an extended pool of delivery-partners.

GrabFood and McDonald’s are partners in several markets in the region. In the Philippines, GrabFood becomes McDonald’s first and only end-to-end food delivery app partner with a third-party delivery fleet – GrabFood’s delivery fleet – to better serve Filipinos. Starting today, GrabFood’s extensive delivery fleet may now deliver McDonalds’ meals from over 60 stores in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

“Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do at McDonald’s–whether in our restaurants or through our McDelivery channels – hotline, www.mcdelivery.com.ph and the McDelivery App. Through this partnership, we’re excited to offer our customers another convenient way to access our food online. We are confident that GrabFood can help bring McDonald’s closer to ‘time-starved consumers,” says Margot Torres, Managing Director of McDonald’s Philippines. “McDonald’s puts its trust on GrabFood as its partner to provide a frictionless experience for our customers, leveraging digital solutions to provide modern-day convenience.” Torres added.

Echoing Torres’ sentiments, Brian Cu, President of Grab Philippines, shared that Grab is committed to serving the daily essential needs of highly social Filipinos while improving the revenue of merchant-partners and providing livelihood for delivery-partners. “As the only everyday super app for Filipinos, our mission is to use technology to help improve the lives of both our consumers and partners. With food delivery as one of our most important business focuses for 2019, we will continue to bring innovative and rewarding food experiences to our consumers, while helping our partners reap the benefits of participating in the Philippines’ digital economy,” Cu said.

Last October 2018, McDonald’s opened its first NXTGEN store equipped with self-ordering kiosks, elevating the experience inside the restaurant. To date, McDonald’s has about 25 NXT GEN stores and counting.

Sharing the same mission of leveraging technology to serve the daily food needs of highly social, digital-savvy FIlipino, GrabFood and McDonald’s look forward to providing more accessible and convenient solutions to more consumers.

“Love Ko ‘To” treats up for grabs

For the launch of the partnership, GrabFood and McDonald’s bring exclusive and exciting offers to its consumers.

Consumers can enjoy free delivery fees in the GrabFood app worth Php 49 using promo code GFMCDO with no minimum order required. GrabFood and McDonald’s are also making the experience more rewarding and delightful by offering free 4 pieces Chicken McNuggets for every order worth Php 350 or more for a limited period of time. One lucky consumer can also win a free McCelebration. To know more about the upcoming promotions, consumers may visit GrabFood’s facebook page: www.facebook.com/GrabFoodPH.

GrabFood and McDonald’s also kicked off their partnership with a welcome McCelebration for GrabFood’s top delivery-partners, whom Grab has empowered to become successful micro-entrepreneurs.

“Our partnership with McDonald’s Philippines is consistent with our vision of helping Filipinos become micro-entrepreneurs via the Grab platform. At GrabFood, we are committed to empower businesses and micro-entrepreneurs, and help them embrace new methods to grow their business,” said EJ dela Vega, GrabFood Philippines Head. “Our best performing delivery-partners can earn up to 2x the minimum daily national average, on flexible schedules that they decide on. While restaurant-partners can expect incremental orders and revenue on top of the in-store visits they receive. We have effectively become the trusted platform of our consumers and partners, making us the #1 food delivery app in the Philippines, ” added dela Vega.

GrabFood continues to sustain its hyper growth stage after growing 12x in terms of completed orders in less than a year since its beta launch last June 2018. It also continues to delight its users with a vast selection of restaurants that range from international options to homey Filipino meals.
