Sharing what we have and making people around us smile may be something we take for granted.  But for children who are not as blessed as the rest of us, these small things can be a source for motivation and provide the opportunity for a better quality of life. This is what inspired Grab Thailand to introduce the ‘GrabExpress Delivering Happiness’ initiative, a heart-warming activity to end the Mother’s Day month. Grab Thailand invited Grab customers to join the charitable cause by sending stationeries, toys, sports equipment, clothes, supplies, books and more, using GrabExpress (Bike) free of charge during 20-26 August 2018. Grab would then deliver the donations to children at 7 foundations across Thailand, including Baan Nokkamin Foundation.

Grab’s management and employees recently paid a visit to Baan Nokkamin Foundation to deliver the donations from the ‘GrabExpress Delivering Happiness’ activity. Over the course of 7 days, Grab customers sent over 20,000 items to the children using GrabExpress. Over a truck load of donations included clothes, stuffed animals, toys and other daily essentials. In addition, Grab also pitched in and donated 20 football kits, 50 footballs and hosted an afternoon filled with food and snacks for the children. Additionally, the Grab team also delivered donations to 6 other foundations including The Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind, Nakhon Ratchasima School for the Blind, Khaen Thong Children’s Home Khon Kaen, Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation, Thammasakon Hat Yai School for the Blind and Northern Region School for the Blind under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Chiang Mai.

Chairat Midchid, CSR Manager, Baan Nokkamin Foundation, said “Baan Nokkamin Foundation has over 200 children in our care. As their caretaker, we try our best to provide what the children need in their everyday lives. Apart from cash donation,  donations of food, toys, and other items is another way to support the children’s needs and encourage their learning. Although we have our transportation option to pick up donations from donors, we cannot handle large loads or multiple destinations. With Grab helping us to reach a broad audience and facilitating the deliveries, we received so many donations. On behalf of the children at Baan Nokkamin Foundation, we really appreciate and are grateful to Grab’s management, GrabExpress drivers and all the kind people who sent us their donations.”
