Grab Revamps Advance Booking Feature for Ride-Hailing Service

Grab Thailand has upgraded the Advance Booking feature for its on-demand ride-hailing service to serve today’s users and travelers better. Three highlights of the enhanced feature include booking a car up to seven days in advance, an improved driver allocation system with a 24/7 help centre, and increased accident insurance coverage of up to THB 800,000. Users can also enjoy a 30% discount by entering the promo code “ADVANCE” and receive a pair of Grab limited-edition elephant pants when commuting to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Maythinee Anavachkul, Head of Mobility and Operations at Grab Thailand, said, “As a leading platform providing on-demand ride-hailing service, Grab is committed to continuously developing our technology and services to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s people, with a particular focus on convenience, comfort, and safety. This commitment is reflected in the development of our Advance Booking feature, designed to address users’ pain points when they have an important meeting or need to travel during rush hour. The feature has received great feedback from Thais and foreigners, particularly those who commute to or from the airport, accounting for up to 40% of all advance booking rides. To further elevate the user  experience, we have significantly improved this feature this year, providing passengers with greater confidence and peace of mind, ensuring a stress-free journey to their destinations.”

Three highlights of the upgraded Advance Booking feature include:

  • More Flexibility in Ride Planning: With the latest feature update, Grab users can now conveniently schedule rides anywhere from two hours to seven days in advance, offering hassle-free planning. This flexibility extends to modifying or canceling bookings without any charges at least one hour before the scheduled departure. Additionally, upon the driver’s arrival, users benefit from an extended waiting time of up to 15 minutes. Advance Booking is now available for a wider range of fleet types, including JustGrab, GrabCar, GrabCar Premium, GrabSUV, GrabVan, GrabCar Lady, and GrabDriveYourCar ensuring the perfect ride for any occasion.   
  • Reliable Driver Allocation System with 24/7 Support: To ensure timely arrivals, Grab has fine-tuned its driver-partner allocation system specifically for the Advance Booking feature. This helps ensure that a driver is reserved at least one hour in advance, allowing sufficient time for them to reach the designated pick-up point. Users can conveniently track their booking status and monitor the real-time location of their assigned driver via the Grab app. Additionally, 24/7 user support is available via Help Centre in the app for any assistance needed. In case of unforeseen circumstances preventing a driver pickup, Grab pledges to compensate users with GrabRewards points, instilling confidence in the reliability of the service. 
  • Enhanced Peace of Mind with Increased Accident Insurance: To elevate passengers’ peace of mind, Grab has raised the bar on accident insurance coverage for those using Advance Booking. The coverage now extends up to a maximum of THB 800,000, a significant increase from THB 200,000, providing comprehensive protection against life or disability caused by an accident during the trip.

Sweeten the Deal with Discounts and Souvenirs! With Advance Booking, users are in for a delightful treat! Enjoy a 30% discount on your ride, with a maximum discount of THB 80 when applying the promo code “ADVANCE”. This promotion is valid until December 31, 2024. But wait, there’s more!  For those booking in advance for a trip to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport, they will also get a pair of limited-edition elephant pants from Grab for free! Only 1,000 pairs are available on a first-come first-serve basis, at Grab’s pick-up/drop-off point on the 1st floor, Gate 4,  Suvarnabhumi Airport.
