Bangkok, 15 May 2017 – Grab, the leading ride-hailing platform in Southeast Asia, is expanding its GrabPay partnership with top financial institutions in Thailand. As many as nine banks — Citibank, Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank, KTC, Siam Commercial Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Thanachart Bank, TMB and UOB — are partnering to encourage consumers to go cashless. Enhanced with a sophisticated risk and fraud detection system, GrabPay accepts credit and debit cards issued by all these banks to facilitate greater convenience for making secure cashless payments.

As part of the GrabPay Pay Preang Prang (Winning Big with GrabPay) campaign, Grab is offering double GrabRewards points, an immediate Bt100 discount, and chances for free Grab ride services when you pay for GrabTaxi and GrabBike (Delivery) services with GrabPay. More than Bt1.2million worth of lucky draw prizes are up for grabs.

To further deliver convenient and safe rides, Grab first launched GrabPay in January 2016 to accept cashless payments via credit and debit cards issued by Visa, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay. Today, GrabPay’s Thai banking partners have risen to nine including Citibank, Bangkok Bank, Kasikorn Bank, KTC, SCB, Standard Chartered Bank, Thanachart Bank, TMB and UOB. For GrabPay Pay Preang Prang, Grab is offering special promotions to new and existing GrabPay users. Anyone using GrabPay for GrabTaxi, GrabCar, GrabCar Premium, GrabBike (Delivery) and GrabBike (Win) for the first time with the ‘GRABPAY’ promo code from 15 May to 30 June 2017 receives an immediate Bt100 discount off the first GrabPay ride.

In addition, 100 passengers stand the chance to win a Bt10,000 discount voucher and another 400 with a Bt500 discount voucher when passengers use GrabPay. The lucky draw is eligible to customers who book GrabTaxi and GrabBike (Delivery) rides using GrabPay from today till 30 May 2017, with the draw taking place on 11 July.
