“Grab’s role in the everyday food journey of Malaysian consumers extends beyond just a delivery platform. We facilitate discovery of new F&B and grocery outlets,
provide reviews to aid their choices, and strive to add value in dine-in settings as well. Our aim is to be the preferred platform for Malaysian food enthusiasts – providing convenience for both delivery and dine-in options and encouraging consumers to engage with their favourite restaurants. Coupled with our tech tools, we remain committed to create demand and broaden opportunities for our merchant-partners to grow their business. The GrabFood 5-Star Awards 2023 mirrors our ongoing dedication and efforts to our valued restaurant partners’ growth.” said Jiong Jian Tan, Director of Commercial and Deliveries, Grab Malaysia.
Helping Merchants Achieve their Best Through Data, Ratings and Reviews
Transitioning beyond deliveries, GrabFood has become a culinary exploration hub. Grab’s 2023 Food and Grocery Trends* report reveals that 91% of Malaysian consumers use the Grab app to discover new restaurants and stores they have never tried before. This presents substantial growth opportunities for merchant-partners, further driven by the impactful consumer ratings and reviews feature, with more than 90% of users confessing to reading reviews online.
This underscores GrabFood’s role as a dynamic ecosystem, not just a delivery platform but a thriving community that encourages culinary discovery and business growth. Food delivery apps, like GrabFood, now closely trail family and friends as Malaysia’s preferred method to discover new F&B venues, outpacing social media and food blogs. Stores with positive ratings and reviews experience higher conversions. Other trends as indicated in the report have successfully fueled the growth of its merchant-partners, allowing them to quickly and effectively tap into the evolving food industry trends. Grab’s commitment towards its partners is also evident through its suite of self-serve digital tools in the GrabMerchant app, demonstrating a dedicated effort to empower partners through innovation.
