The National Urgent Response (NUR) Alert system is a national initiative that helps spread information related to missing children under the age of 12 as quickly as possible. Beginning 1 March 2019, we have partnered with the Royal Malaysia Police (Polis DiRaja Malaysia or PDRM) to support this community focused effort on child safety.
In addition to sharing NUR Alerts to our network of driver-partners nationwide via the driver app and website, we will also explore further enhancements to develop new ways to raise awareness about the NUR Alerts to our passengers and the wider community as well.
YB Hannah Yeoh, the Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister who spoke at the launch of this collaboration stressed the importance of quick and decisive actions when it comes to identifying, rescuing, recovering, or protecting any child in Malaysia who is the victim of any crime.
“The ability to share these alerts nationwide, to hundreds and thousands of dedicated Malaysians who are part of Grab’s network of driver-partners is a powerful addition to the existing efforts of PDRM, MCMC, and the host of other organisations who support our efforts to keep all the children and communities safe, everyday”, she said.
Losing a child is devastating, not just for the family but also to society as a whole because children are our nation’s future leaders. While the authorities do their best to locate the missing children, we will work together with you to do our part as concerned citizens and be the eyes and ears on the street, to ensure a safer everyday for Malaysian children.
Kindly be reminded that all members of the Grab community are required to follow the Code of Conduct and Terms of Services.
