Changing your destination during your ride

Now you have more flexibility when you need it

Plans change, and sometimes mistakes happen. If for any reason you need to change your destination in the middle of a trip, just enter the new destination in the Grab app and let your driver know.

Your total fares will be updated and you’ll be rerouted to your new destination. Please note that this is subject to a surcharge, and can only be done once per trip.

Here’s how you can change your destination while in transit

  1. Step 1

    In your Grab app, tap on your current drop-off location.

  2. Step 2

    Let your driver know you want to change your destination.

  3. Step 3

    Enter the new destination & you’ll be shown an updated fare.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm the change and ride to your new drop-off point.

 

Applicable for JustGrab, GrabCar, GrabFamily, GrabAssist, GrabCar Plus, 6-seater (Economy), GrabCar (Premium) and GrabCoach.

If you need to make more than one stop, add an extra stop before you book a ride.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. For GrabShare, the drop-off points are fixed. Passengers are unable to change their destination after they have requested a ride.

No, you cannot change your drop-off point for bookings with multiple stops.

You may change your drop-off point only once during your ride. Do inform your Grab Driver before entering your new destination.

The fare is based on (1) distance already travelled, (2) the distance to the new drop-off point, (3) any high-demand pricing present at time of original booking, and (4) includes a ‘Change Drop-Off’ surcharge.

The GrabRewards points received at the end of the ride will be based on the updated fare.

We will re-validate the promo based on the updated location and fare. If valid, the promo will be applied automatically. You will be informed if the promo is invalid for the updated location and fare. You may then use this promo for another ride.

2. GrabPay users are eligible for a “RM8 rebate” in your “My Rewards” when you spend a minimum of RM88 on a single receipt via GrabPay Wallet.
3. The offer of “RM8 rebate” is limited to a total of 62,500 redemptions throughout the campaign period.
4. Offer is valid for TWO (2) in-store redemptions with a cap of ONE(1) redemption per user per day throughout the campaign. Shared across AEON Co, AEON BiG, AEON MaxValu Prime, and AEON Wellness throughout the campaign period. 
5. The “RM8 rebate” will be awarded instantly with a minimum transaction of RM88 with GrabPay at all outlets of AEON Co, AEON BiG, AEON MaxValu Prime, AEON Wellness; The rebate can be found under “My Rewards”. Rebate must be redeemed by clicking “use now” under “My Rewards” 30 days from the date of issuance.
6. The campaign will cease once all redemptions have been fully awarded or at the expiration of the campaign period, whichever is earlier.

13. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia and any dispute arising out of or in connection with promotion shall be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts of Malaysia.
