Declare your individual private vehicle as an e-hailing private vehicle

Hi driver-partners, you are required by Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) to apply for your e-hailing vehicle declaration at the nearest JPJ counter before renewing your road tax.

The process involves a declaration of your individual private vehicle (AB/AD) to an e-hailing private vehicle (AH). This declaration is required by JPJ for Grab driver-partners in order to avoid any failure of road tax renewal in the future. You may find the requirements and documents that need to be submitted at the JPJ counter below. The process is free and required for registered driver-partners in Peninsular Malaysia only.

 

a. The process may be done by the owner or a representative

b. The process can be done at any State JPJ Office/ Branch that conducts vehicle Registration and Licensing activities except UTC

c. EVP details must already exist in the JPJ mySIKAP system and should still be valid

d. PUSPAKOM’s Periodic Inspection Report (VR1) for the vehicle should exist in the JPJ system (mySIKAP) and is still valid for vehicles that have reached the age limit of three (3) years from the date of registration or the year it was made

e. Insurance coverage that is still valid

No fee will be charged. The process is free.
Kindly be informed that for company vehicles that have been given approval by the Minister at the time, JPJ has automatically updated the vehicle information in mySIKAP system. The approval of company vehicles is only allowed until each vehicle reaches the age limit of 10 years from the date it was registered or the year it was made. There are no new applications for company vehicles to replace or add after that.
Yes. Representatives are required to bring a copy of their own and owner’s IC, owner’s physical EVP, letter of authorization (Surat Pelantikan Wakil) from the owner, Form JPJ-EH 1, Form JPJK8 and PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (VR1) for vehicles over the age limit of 3 years from the date of registration or the year it was made.
