Phnom Penh, Cambodia – 26 February 2025 – Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading super app, has partnered with Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) to enhance urban mobility in Koh Pich, one of Phnom Penh’s fastest-growing central business districts. This collaboration aims to improve transportation access, benefiting residents, businesses, and visitors while supporting the neighborhood’s broader urban development.

Phnom Penh has experienced significant urban expansion, driven by recent infrastructure projects, increasing the need for new mobility solutions that are essential for business districts and growing communities. The Grab-OCIC partnership will introduce improved transportation experience, making it easier for people to navigate between the landmarks.

Commitment to safer, smarter, and more convenient travel

“We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with OCIC to enhance our mobility solutions, starting with Koh Pich. By growing and developing Grab’s services in the area, we are providing a safe and convenient transportation option for residents and visitors while also creating more earning opportunities for our driver-partners. Partnership on mobility is just the beginning. Moving forward, we will work together more on other projects involved with Grab’s business verticals, such as GrabFood and GrabExpress, providing our users with more convenience and benefits through this partnership. This collaboration represents another step forward in our shared vision to create a seamless, efficient, and sustainable transportation ecosystem.” said Kang Sovannarot (Mike), Country Head, Grab Cambodia.

As part of this strategic partnership, Grab will provide a 50% discount (capped at 4,000 KHR per ride) for up to 2 times per user. The total redemption for this campaign is 2,000 units, which equals $2,000 in value. To enhance user convenience when booking and waiting for Grab driver partners, 10 designated pick-up and drop-off points have already been established across Koh Pich. These include Connexion Community Hub, Coconut Park, River Garden, Elysée Garden, Elysée, Koh Pich Exhibition Center, Treelion Park, Koh Pich Night Market, and Canadian International School.

“Koh Pich and Phnom Penh are evolving rapidly with a new generation of residents. We aim to enhance urban mobility in Koh Pich and provide a better customer experience to meet the growing needs of residents and visitors by offering integrated services and transport options that simplify daily life. As a Cambodian company, we truly value collaborating with one of Asia’s largest technology leaders and pioneers, like Grab, reinforcing our commitment to enhancing innovation and connectivity,” said Thierry Tea, Vice President of OCIC Group.

Koh Pich’s transformation: A destination for Business, Leisure, and Community

The transformation of Koh Pich has laid the foundation for it to become home to more than 15,000 residents, over 1,000 businesses, and 7,000 office workers. The newly constructed bridge to Norea City has further improved access, with thousands of people passing through daily. As Koh Pich’s residential and business community grows, more food and beverage (F&B) options are coming to meet the increasing demand. Earlier this month, Starbucks Reserve opened in Koh Pich, adding to the district’s growing selection of cafés. On weekends, the district attracts large crowds for events, fairs, and international concerts.

Ensuring smooth connectivity is essential as more people live and work in Koh Pich. This partnership improves transport options, helping the district keep pace with its growth and making movement more seamless for everyone. Supporting these efforts, an EV charging station in front of Connexion Community Hub further contributes to sustainable urban mobility in the area.

As Cambodia is experiencing rapid development, Grab and OCIC remain committed to strengthening urban mobility, supporting economic activity, and enhancing connectivity for the neighborhood’s future.
