In Indonesia, onboarding gear such as helmets and jackets are provided to Partners With Disabilities. This helps lower the barrier of entry to join the Grab platform.
Special commission structures — such as those implemented in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Cambodia — are designed for driver-partners officially recognised as PWDs by local regulatory bodies.
In Malaysia, Grab subsidises the full cost of the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license for PWDs, a mandatory e-hailing license.
Lai Zhen Sheng, 37, has scoliosis and chronic lung disease. He joined Grab as a driver-partner in 2017, seeking flexible hours that accommodate his condition and provide a stable income for medical and household expenses.
