Jakarta, 22 December 2017 – Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand transportation and mobile payments platform, today announced its official availability at 49 train stations in Greater Jakarta through its strategic partnership with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI). After inaugurating Inkoppol – Grab official pick-up points at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (SHIA) in October 2017, Grab further strengthens its commitment to making safe and affordable service accessible to commuters.
Nowadays, commuter line has been a preferred public transportation for most commuters who daily commute in Greater Jakarta. According to the data released by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), a total number of commuters who commute in Greater Jakarta in August 2017 hits 27,679,000 or equals to 81.9% of a total number of train passengers nationwide(1). In parallel, this preference is also reflected from its year-on-year growth of 10.9% during January – August 2017 period.

This is enabled through our strategic partnership with PT KAI to provide an integrated mode of transport that can be a time-saver and hassle-free alternative, thus further enriching our customer experience.”
After stepping out from commuter line, commuters now can easily and swiftly commence their Grab rides without leaving the stations. They can book the rides from their own Grab applications or by visiting GrabVenue at the main entrance of each station and head to Grab’s official pick-up points located at the exit areas.
In addition, commuters can also enjoy GrabNow and GrabHitch services at the train stations. This will enable commuters, especially the senior citizens who are not digital savvy and have difficulties to order ride for themselves, to get connected from point to point with a safe, seamless, and affordable Grab’s ride.
To further enliven the moment, Grab partnered with Tokopedia, provide an attractive promotion for hundreds of commuters daily who order Grab’s ride at Grab Venue in every station during 21 December 2017 – 31 January 2018 period(2).
