All rides booked through the Grab app are covered under Grab insurance, for both driver-partners and passengers. To date, the Accident Insurance and Death Benefit Fund has provided over Rp100 billion in coverage to more than 20,000 driver-partners and passengers, including death benefits of up to Rp50 million per person.
The GrabBenefit program offers operational assistance including motorcycle service vouchers, fuel vouchers, car washes, and special package prices for phone credit and data. Grab also supports partners and their families with daily needs through grocery packages, shopping vouchers, business capital access, and family services like child circumcision.
Grab operates Indonesia’s largest electric vehicle (EV) fleet in the ride-hailing and delivery sector, supporting the country’s green transportation transition since 2019. The fleet of over 11,000 electric vehicles has collectively reduced over 30,000 tons of carbon emissions and saving 11 million liters of fuel over 250 million KM of travel.
Grab Indonesia supports road safety through its Grand Safety Training for Partners (PAKEM), reaching 75,000 driver-partners nationwide. In collaboration with government agencies, Grab has also launched the Grab Security and Safety Center for Tourists, including direct integration with SAPA 129 KemenPPPA to enhance travel safety.

According to ITB Research (2025), nearly 50% of two-wheeled Grab driver-partners began earning income through the platform after previously being laid off or unemployed. Between 2018 and 2024, Grab contributed to the creation of more than 4.6 million job opportunities through the digitalisation of MSMEs on its platform. In addition, one in five merchant-partners are Generation Z entrepreneurs who launched their first business through Grab.
Grab’s Future Cities program has driven the digitalization of over 200,000 MSMEs and 5,200 market traders by a 300% increase. Grab fuels MSME growth with over Rp 6 trillion in business financing to 445,000 MSMEs (via GrabModal and OVO Modal Usaha). Grab has also provided Indonesian MSME representatives with international exposure at global events like MotoGP, G20, and WEF Davos 2025.
Grab supports the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in Indonesia. As of July 2025, the initiative has benefited more than 4,000 students, 500 teachers, and 20 schools, as well as MSMEs and cooperatives across eight cities, including Serang and Cilegon. The program includes a minimum one-year commitment with funding of over USD 1 million and focuses on implementation for children with special needs.
Grab Indonesia also supports the Free Health Check program for communities and driver-partners in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Health. This builds on earlier public health efforts, including the 2021 Grab Vaccine Center initiative.
Grab-OVO is actively leading the fight against online gambling and new forms of digital economy crime through the GEBUK JUDOL program (launched March 2, 2025). This joint movement is conducted in collaboration with PPATK and the Ministry of Communication and Digital. Grab utilizes advanced security, including Know Your Customer (KYC) technology, Grab Defense, and smart parameters (velocity, threshold, geographical rules), enabling automatic Transaction Blocking of suspected online gambling bookie accounts. Users can report suspicious activity via the official GEBUK JUDOL website or the OVO application's Help Center.
Since 2021, Grab has planted hundreds of thousands of mangroves in Indonesia through partnerships with EcoMatcher, Trees4Trees, and the Bumi Hijau Lestari Foundation. The conservation effort in Katingan Mentaya, Central Kalimantan, restored 149,800 hectares of peat swamps, reducing nearly 7.5 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Additionally, Grab and PlasticPay have successfully fostered the circular economy since 2023, collecting over 4,000 kg of plastic bottles via RVM machines and reducing the carbon footprint by over 20,000 kg.
